April 2011 Meeting Summary


Attendance:  25 members, 1 STAR Kid and 2 guests


Minutes for March 2011 accepted as read


President/VP Report:  This is our last meeting at the Stroudwater Church until fall.  The meeting/ride for May will be at Woody’s on 5/7/11.

Our Iron Azz ride for our Chapter will be on 7/2/11, rain or shine.  It will be to Fort Kent and back in one day.  We’ll need to do 500 miles in 12 hours.

Treasurer's report accepted as read, with a reminder that annual dues must be paid before the ride next month!

LobSTAR Bake 2011:  Will be the 2nd Saturday in August (8/13/11).  The cost will be $35/person.  The dealership will be open to the public, but the bake itself will be for STAR members only.  Crushstation will be there.  There will be a photographer there taking pictures with Crushstation for a fee.  The jail has been built.  We will need volunteers to “arrest” people.  Scott will have Yamaha reps there for the day.


LOS Rep:  Doing the May ride with Road Captain’s help.  The final destination is Snow Falls.


STAR Vet Rep:  Not present.


STAR Kids/Teens:  position is currently vacant.


STAR Membership:  made up a letter to go into the packets that people receive when they purchase a new bike.  They took the same letter & will attach it to an email to biker friends.


Road Captain:  the rides are being planned.  The May ride is all set…it will be a 183 mile ride.  BeLOS will give more details in the LOS report.  Make sure to be gassed up & ready to ride when you get to the meeting.  Would like to leave around 9:30 a.m.

Website Committee:  The old Facebook page has been deleted.

STATE Rally Committee:  The pins should be here in mid-April.  9 a.m. = set up. 11 a.m. = kick off.  12 p.m. = bike blessing, with lunch afterward.

New business:  The Odometer Challenge will start before next month’s ride.  $5.00 entry fee.  Odometer needs to be read by the Sergeant at Arms.  The challenge ends in October.

Safety Minute of the Month: don’t drive in slush.  Make sure you check everything on your bike before you ride.  Watch out for frost heaves.
